Short version: I don't ask you for anything, I don't have accounts or logins, and I can't identify you. Third-party tools do collect anonymous usage data, and here's exactly what and how to opt out.

Information this site collects directly

None. AskYourDriver.com has no accounts, no logins, no newsletter signup, and no forms. I don't ask for your name, email, phone number, or payment details anywhere on this site. If you choose to email me, I have your email address because you sent it to me, and I use it only to reply.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. It collects things like approximate location by region, device type, browser, which pages you viewed, and how you arrived. It's aggregate and anonymous — I can see that forty people read the brewery section last week, not who any of them were.

You can opt out across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising and cookies

This site may display ads served by Google, including through Google AdSense.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking them won't break this site.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site — primarily tour and hotel booking links — are affiliate links. If you book through one, the merchant may pay me a small commission at no additional cost to you. Those merchants may set their own cookies to track that referral. This never affects what I recommend or how I order the list.

External links

This site links out to restaurants, bars, breweries, venues, map services, and booking platforms. Once you follow a link off this site, you're subject to that site's privacy policy, not this one. I have no control over their practices and no access to whatever they collect.

Children

This site is written for adults planning a visit to Asheville and much of it concerns bars and breweries. It isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect any information from them.

Your choices

Because I don't collect personal information directly, there's very little of yours for me to hold, correct, or delete. If you've emailed me and want that correspondence deleted, ask and I'll delete it. If you're in a jurisdiction with specific data rights — the GDPR in the EU or the UK, the CCPA in California — and want to exercise them, email me and I'll do what's asked.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
